Two Step flow theory
goes through an opinion leader leader

The information goes through an opinion leader then it would go through to the media then the audience will take up on the idea or for it in their mind

From the information would come from some one who had suffered from the bulling or been effected some how, they then wright it int the media and then we would view the piece and it would make us form our mid and feel a certain way.

We see things in our own individual way.

roland barthes said in his esse ‘The Death of the Author’ meaning is applied by the reader

‘the Death of the author gives way to the birth of the reader’

why we make use of the media. To for fill some sort of need. the individual has the power and he/she selects the media texts that best suit their needs.

The project that we had been asked to do was to create a viral campaign for a video game. I feel that the project was successful. I felt that it could have done better at some points of the project.

Through out the project we didn’t have many legal issues apart from requiring permission from Virgin music to use Gary Moore - “Out In The fields” as background music for the viral video. We didn’t have any financial problems on the project.

Our leadership skill didn’t really come in much use we never nominated anyone to be a leader. We all pulled our own weight and always found something to do to contribute to the project.

We managed our time well, we finished the work one week before the deadline of the project. We took time out of our own schedule to come and pick up from scott the equipment that we required permission to use from the college. We then went of to the location to film. We met the requirements of the brief by creating a teaser clip, posters, QR codes that lead to the Twitter, online posters, GIF etc…

At first we didn’t take much action into filming the project till a couple of weeks in we the teaser clip started to come together and started to have an appeal to it. We arraigned to have some friends that are actors in to come and help us film footage unfortunately they couldn’t find time for when we were free due to Work and College. So we used our members from our group to go out and recored the teaser trailer. Whilst we were out we used this opportunity to take some pictures for the GIFs, posters and so on. When at he location of filming we started with using the camera panning the field showing the location so it could give the audience more of an idea of what the location looks like. We then took shots form over the others persons shoulders to give an idea of the characters and to also show that they are facing each other in person showing that they don’t have much trust on showing the others back. The combat used in the teaser is nothing aggressive so that it would keep it in the low PEGI rating of an 16+ game.

We all planned to achieve at least a merit on this project at the minimum. I feel that we have achieved this grade apart from me. I feel my efforts worn’t at the maximum I got to a pass in one of the sections and I feel like that could bring down my grade.

From this project I have learnt how effective a teaser clip is and what you can make the consumer to make them interested in the product thats being sold. It’s as simple as showing a simple image of that leave people curious to find out information on it.

In the future I would plan to get more of an advert to get out their so that it would become viral and would be able to be known just from a simple look at the logo. Plus I would also put a bit more detail into the videos for example I would require permission to move objects out of the way so it wouldn’t change the effect that we are after and I would make sure that all my efforts would be put in so that it would gain a distinction.

What is a Moral Panic?

it is a intensity of feeling expressed in the media about an issue that appears to threaten the social order….. e.g.

video game making people violent
pop stars being to sexual
journalists tapping phones

some critics believe that is when the moral majority try to scapegoat parts of the media. when the media challenges our cultural IDEOLOGY (values,thoughts and beliefs).

We have recorded some footage for the viral video we spent a day recording and managed to get some good photos as well, we have also been able to create a GIF of the shots that we took. We have also Created an outro video as well. We have had some troubles like the files of the video are ones that we couldn’t trancfer. we are still working on changint the types of files.

I am working in a Company with Molly and Lauren Newman called the Toastie Media Company we have been approached by a local production company that would like to create a new franchise idea by creating a games concept for 16 - 35 year old males and females. We plan to create a viral advert. We plan to create this viral advertisement by making a video advert my contribution to the the video would be directing and writing the script. The video would have to build suspense and show apart of the story line. My tutor has taught me to use such techniques such as Mise en scene, photography skills, camera angles. We have not encountered any constraints yet but I expect to be rated because we have some unethical things in the video and game of Violence. What i have identified of self-development so far are the photography skills the i have learnt from Scott’s lessons and how effective adverts can be for example the skyrims advertisement was basic but it managed to get very high sales and toe get Internet memes after it.

I’m not sure if i have done it right i’m sorry if it’s worng scott, please contact me how i can improve it. thanks
